We live in the funky town of Silver City in the Southwest corner of New Mexico. Its off the beaten track about 40 miles from the closest interstate highway (I 10) and just south of the Gila National Forest (3 million acres) with two large wilderness areas. It’s located at about 6,000 feet. The town has about 10,000 people and the county (Grant) has a population of 25,000. It has a Walmart Supercenter, an Ace Hardware and a Walgreen. That’s about it for the big box stores. You can get an idea of where we are from the Google Earth link. The satellite shows our house on 5 acres at the end of a dirt road on top of a ridge.
